Inauguration of Kaushal Bhawan
President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated Kaushal Bhawan, the new building of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in New Delhi. President Murmu inaugurated the new building in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and his deputy Rajiv Chandrashekhar. On the occasion, the President visited the exhibition stalls set up by the beneficiaries of various initiatives of the government such as PM Vishwakarma, Pradhan Mantri-Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN), Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP).
Under the aegis of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Bhawan is set to realize the aspirations and nurture the country's young talent, leading India towards a more skilled future.
Kaushal Bhavan
The foundation stone of Kaushal Bhawan was laid in March 2019. The building will provide office space for the ministry as well as its sister organizations – the Directorate General of Training, the National Council of Vocational Education and Training and the National Skill Development Corporation. This state-of-the-art office building equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure aims to provide a safe, convenient and efficient work environment to bring a new work culture and promote the Skill India Mission. The building's design incorporates environmental responsibility by preserving two giant trees, exemplifying a model for sustainable development.
Demonstration of Skills Initiative
The inauguration showcased various skill initiatives under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), which included demonstration of drone operations and mine survey. The exhibition highlighted traditional craftsmanship through PM Vishwakarma demonstration and emphasized on the role of Skill India Digital (SID) platform in enhancing the skills of individuals.
Collaborative Ecosystem for Skill Development
Kaushal Bhawan is designed to promote collaboration and exchange of knowledge between government bodies, industry partners, educational institutions and the skilled workforce. It aspires to be a hub where creativity, innovation and expertise converge to shape India's efficient and empowered future, representing more than just a structure but a beacon of hope for aspiring professionals.
